awards for end of the year - prek is may 21st at 9 am. Kindergarten is on May 21st at 12:35 pm 5th grade's celebration is May 22nd at 9:30 am. first through fourth grade will be on May 20th - 1st grade is at 12:35 pm, 2nd grade is at 10:55 am, third grade is at 10:05 am, and fourth grade is at 8:25 am.

Please help us welcome, Ms. Julianna Perez to Van Wert as a Kindergarten teacher. I am thrilled to begin my first teaching adventure with the Van Wert family! I love learning something new each day, being creative, reading books, and spending time outdoors. I am also a 2025 Young Harris College graduate with a bachelor's in Elementary Education, a minor in Spanish, and an autism endorsement.

Our Georgia Milestones Assessment window opens next week, and we are making final preparations for a successful testing experience. Our tseting window opens April 29th. As we finalize our plans for testing we want to share some information with you. Below are the dates for testing. Please note that 5th and 8th grade students are required to take the science sections of thes test and only 8th graders are required to take the scoial studies section. Testing is for students who are attending in person and virtually. ELA Section 1 - Tuesday, April 29th ELA Section 2 - Wednesday, April 30th ELA Section 3 - Thursday, May 1st Testing Makeups - Friday, May 2nd Math Section 1 - Tuesday, May 6th Math Section 2 - Wednesday, May 7th 5th Grade ONLY Science Section 1 & 2 - Thursday, May 8th During the testing window, we strongly encourage our students to leave all cell phones and/or tablets etc. at home. These devices must be collected before testing each day and removed from the classroom during the test. It will help our students and teachers if these devices remain at home on these days.
