Eastside Elementary is proud to announce that Jud Forsyth won Honorable Mention in the 2024-2025 Young Georgia Authors regional competition, hosted by Northwest Georgia RESA. Congratulations to Jud Forsyth!
The purpose of the Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition is to encourage students to develop an enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics.
This prestigious competition has been engaging Georgia students for more than two decades and is open to any student currently enrolled in Georgia public schools, grades K-12. The competition is sponsored by the Georgia Language Arts Supervisors (GLAS) and the Georgia RESA Network.

Polk School District students in grades 3-8, along with those enrolled in certain high school courses, will participate in Georgia Milestones testing.
📝 Grades 3-8: EOG tests in ELA & Math
🧪 Grades 5 & 8: EOG test in Science
🌍 Grade 8: EOG test in Social Studies
🏫 Middle & High School: EOC tests for designated courses
