On this Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Eastside would like to recognize a special officer, Carey Atkins. Officer Carey works hard to patrol the halls, keep us safe, and loves these kids. He has even been known to slip a ring pop or sour straws to someone having a rough day. We are so thankful for his advice, his friendship, and his heart for the kids.

IMPORTANT! Based on conversations with our Local Emergency Management office regarding the potential for severe weather tomorrow, Tuesday, January 9, including flash flooding and high wind gusts, Polk School District is delaying school two hours to allow our bus drivers/riders and student drivers to navigate their daily routes in the daylight. We apologize for any inconvenience but will always make decisions in the best interest of our students and staff, keeping safety our first priority. Thank you for continuing to support us in our efforts. Time Change Examples include: If your bus picks you up at 6:45 on a normal school day, they will pick you up at 8:45. If you normally drop your child off at 7:15, you will drop off at 9:15. If the tardy bell rings at 7:35 daily, it will ring at 9:35. Dismissal times will remain the same.

LOST and FOUND! Parents, Grandparents, friends, and family, Please look through the photos of our lost and found items. If something belongs to your child, ask your child to claim it and take it home. The lost and found buckets are located in each grade level pod/hallway, in the cafeteria, and in the gym. To help us reunite jackets, hoodies, hats, water bottles, gloves, and more with the student who owns it, please label your child's items. On Monday, December 11, we will display all the lost and found on the front porch of the school where parents can come claim their child's items. Before we leave for break, any remaining lost and found items will be donated to charity.
