PE activity stations have been keeping students moving and building a wide range of skills—frisbee throwing, underhand tossing with corn hole, basketball shooting, and riding floor scooters 🏀🥏.
Students in 3rd–5th grade also set individual health and wellness goals, taking ownership of their fitness and personal growth ❤️🔥
One of the biggest hits? Hula Hoop Showdown! Students hop through hula hoops, and when they meet a classmate, it’s time for a friendly battle of rock, paper, scissors ✊✋✌️. Winners keep moving and can earn points for their team—lots of laughter, teamwork, and movement all around!

WEATHER UPDATE: Polk School District will open with a two-hour delayed start on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The additional time will ensure our buses and facilities are fully operational and warm. This means all bus routes, school openings, and start times will be shifted forward by 2 hours from their regularly scheduled times. For example, a 7:00 AM bus pickup will now be a 9:00 AM pickup, etc. There will be no change in dismissal procedures.
Please ensure all students are dressed warmly for tomorrow's frigid temperatures. Wear layers, hats, gloves, and scarves.
We appreciate your continued understanding and support as we take these precautions to ensure the safety of our students and staff during these extreme cold conditions.
We adapted traditional bowling to fit our gym space and turned off the lights for black lights and colorful LED fun.
Students worked on bowling skills, following directions, encouraging teammates, keeping score, and taking turns — all while having a great time!
Cosmic Bowling was a huge hit! 💫
Any decisions regarding school closures or delays next week will be made by 12 p.m. on Monday. Families will be notified through phone calls, text messages, our website, Facebook, and the district mobile app.
All weekend extracurricular activities have been canceled.

Lunch With Loved Ones is coming up beginning at the end of February. This year, we are pleased to partner with three local restaurants to offer food options. You can choose from El Coyote, Sidekicks, or Soli's. School lunch will be available on the form only.
Please complete the form that went home this week or, if you are purchasing lunches, you may sign up and pay online at https://polkcountyga.schoolwindow.com/estore/ees_main/main-office.html. Forms and payment are due back by February 10, 2026.
To allow for a more relaxed lunch, each day will have only one event and will begin at noon. Please arrive about 10 minutes early.
