April 30 is Poem in your Pocket Day in recognition of National Poetry Month. Everyone is encouraged to carry a poem around all day. The poem may be one you copied out or an original you want to share. Fold it regular or using origami. Share your poem with friends and family throughout the day. For students and staff at Eastside, poems are available in the cafeteria.

Today the school cheered on our athletes before they departed to compete in the Polk County Special Olympic Games. These Olympians will compete in different games and events along with students from around the county.

They enjoyed planting grass seeds, creating their handprints on the Earth Mural, sorting items that can be recycled, and creating their own dirt cups for snack.

💤 Catch Some Zzz’s: A well-rested brain is a sharp brain! Ensure your student gets a full night's sleep so they wake up refreshed and ready to focus.
🍳 Fuel Up: A healthy, nutritious breakfast provides the "brain fuel" needed to power through those morning sessions.
⏰ Be On Time, Every Day: This is the big one! Testing begins promptly in the morning. Arriving on time—and being present every single day—helps your student stay relaxed and confident in their normal classroom routine.
