Cedartown Middle School has been recognized as a leader in the field of school emergency preparedness by receiving the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness!
The Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness recognizes schools that are taking efforts to be prepared for the unexpected and fulfill state guidelines for emergency management. The Seal of Preparedness results from the collaborative efforts of the Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency as they take strides to better prepare our schools and commend schools for going above and beyond to increase school safety and minimize risk factors.
There were 184 schools that applied for the Ready Georgia Seal of Preparedness through an online application that opened in September. The application required specific documentation of drills, planning and collaboration practices throughout the school year, in addition to the submission of an approved school safety plan. CMS is one of 47 schools to be awarded this state recognition, which includes all 10 Polk County Schools! ❤🐾🖤
