Kim Stone

Dr. Kimberly Stone

Dr. Kimberly Stone is a native of Rockmart and a 1992 graduate of Rockmart High School.  She studied mathematics at Georgia Tech, and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at Jacksonville State University.  She then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Teaching mathematics and a Specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from Piedmont College.  During this time, Dr. Stone taught at Paulding County High School, East Paulding High School, and Rockmart Middle School.

In 2010, Dr. Stone moved to Hawaii and completed her doctorate degree in educational leadership.  There she taught at Job Corps, Kapolei High School, and Island Pacific Academy.  She then worked at a non-profit community action program where she ran an after school STEM program funded completely from her grant writing.

In 2016, she moved to Colorado.  Once in Colorado, Dr. Stone continued working in grant writing for a non-profit cancer research foundation that focused on children’s cancer.  She returned to the classroom in Colorado and taught at Grand Junction High School.

In 2017, Dr. Stone decided to return home and took a job at Chapel Hill High School.  When the opportunity arose, she couldn’t wait to be a “Jacket” again.  Now back home, she loves working at her alma mater and being the Junior class and Prom sponsor.

Dr. Stone resides in Rockmart, Ga.  While she has no children of her own, she loves time spent with her niece and nephew.  She is the sister of Ms. Scott (RMS) and the daughter of Randy and Carolyn Stone. In her spare time, Dr. Stone enjoys shooting pool and is on a competitive league for 8- and 9-ball.

Welcome to RHS, Dr. Stone!
