My name is Jennifer Baker, and this is my 6th year at Rockmart High School.  I live in Kennesaw with my husband and our dog and cat.   I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English, and I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching Secondary English from Mercer University.   My philosophy of teaching is based on the fact that a teacher should teach because he or she possesses a quest for learning, has a passion for a particular subject, and is driven by a true calling and desire to inspire young and diverse minds.  My mission as an educator is to encourage and foster the development of critical thinking, the practice of higher cognitive processing skills and reasoning abilities, and the utilization of creative problem solving. This year I will be teaching AP Literature, American Literature, and 9th Literature.  I am looking forward to a successful year, and I am looking forward to being fully committed to my students and their future.
