Hi. My name is Sandy Bell. I was born and raised in Cedartown, and I graduated from Cedartown High School in 2007. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. I got married in 2017 to my wonderful husband Grady and I have an awesome stepson Kaden. I'm also currently pregnant with our son Kyler, who is due in December!! I taught 5th grade for one year at Youngs Grove Elementary. This will be my fifth year here at Cherokee Elementary. I am looking forward to an awesome year with an amazing group of students and colleagues!
I believe in a balance of student centered and teacher centered learning. I believe that all learning should be based on students's needs, and students should be actively engaged in a variety of lessons and activities. Learning also has to be teacher centered sometimes because I believe it is important to model, instruct and talk to students about different topics. I work to know my students, so that they will show not only academic growth but growth as an individual to make them a well rounded student. I believe that all students can learn and grow in some way. I also believe that it is important to have clear and high expectations for all students.
