Hello.  My name is Kerri Earwood and I am so happy to be teaching your child this year in math.  I am a native of Rockmart, graduating from Rockmart High School in 1995 and received my degree in Middle Grades Education in math and social studies from Kennesaw State University.  I am married to Jonathan and we have three children.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or math questions that you or your child may have.

My philosophy of education is to help students become everything that they wish to be and discover the talent and potential that they did not know they have.  In order to be an effective teacher in any grade level or setting, you have to be passionate about what you do.  An effective teacher is one who is able to challenge the students who “get it” and reach the students who do not.

In order to reach all students, it is crucial that we understand that students do not learn using the same style and will not all learn at the same pace.  A teacher must always be flexible and be able to adapt to any situation that may occur.  It is also my belief that curiosity and the desire to be challenged reside deeply in all children, and when encouraged, leads students to a life-long engagement in learning.
