Planning time: 9:00 - 9:45

My name is Renée Hopkins. I am married to Kenneth Hopkins, and I have two wonderful sons and an amazing step daughter , Will, Weslee, and Hannah. I am originally from Cedartown and have been teaching for the Polk School District for 29 years.

I received a B.S. degree from University of West Georgia and a Masters Degree from Jacksonville State University in Early Childhood Education. I also received a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.

I worked at Cherokee Elementary for 20 years and began working at Youngs Grove Elementary in 2010 when the school opened.  I have recently served as the Grade Chairman and on the Leadership Team, as well as other committees  since  then.  I have experience teaching kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and third grade. This year I will be teaching EIP ( Early Intervention Program).  I look forward to working with these students.

I am really excited about beginning a new school year and look forward to being one of your child's teacher  and working with the parents as well. We will incorporate new educational activities, technology, and differentiated reading activities to help encourage your child to want to read even more! We have a lot of fun experiences ahead of us. Let's work together to provide your child with an amazing school experience!
