I am a graduate of Rockmart High School where I enjoyed business classes and band. I graduated from Jacksonville State University with a BS in Business Education and a Music Minor. After graduating from JSU, I worked as a loan secretary at the Rockmart Bank (which is now SunTrust Bank) for two years. I began working for Polk School District at Rockmart High School in the Fall of 1984. I received my Masters in Business Education from the University of West Georgia and my Specialist Degree from NOVA Southeastern University. Currently, I am a member of Georgia Association of Educators. I am excited about working with the students at Rockmart Middle School again this year. I have three sons --Will, Justin, and Wes.
My philosophy of education is student centered and goal oriented. I strive to structure lessons to meet the needs of a diverse student population through real-life project based activities. It is my goal to help students establish career goals, develop the skills they need to be successful in the future, and become life-long learners.
