About me...

My name is Sonya Morrow. I graduated from Jaksonville State University with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education.  I have been teaching kindergarten for the past 26 years.  Eight of those years were in Alabama, six at Lumpkin County, and the past 12 have been here in Polk County.  I am married to Terry Morrow. We have three sons Mitchell, Payton, and Jake.

This year I am looking foward to being a part of the ESOL team here at Youngs Grove.  ESOL is an acronym that stands for English to Speakers of Other Languages. My goal is to make your child's experience in ESOL fun and meaningful while teaching them the skills they need to advancetheir proficiency in the English language.  Our focus will be listening, speaking, reading and writing skills as well as vocabulary development.

I believe that it is my job to establish a classroom community where all sudents feel valued and are able to express themselves in their own unique ways.  I strive to provide a positive classroom environment where sudents are praised for following expectations and for being responsible learners.  I set high expectations for all of my studens and instill that with hard work and perserverance, anything is possible.
