I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia in 1997, and attained my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood from Jacksonville State University in 2010.
My teaching career began here in Polk School District. In 1997, I was hired at Northside Kindergarten as a kindergarten teacher, then in 1998, I transferred to Westside Elementary. Here at Westside, I have taught kindergarten (13 years) and third grade (8 years). I can not believe I am beginning my 22nd year!
In addition to staying busy with my career, I also work to keep up with my two beautiful children. I am blessed with a daughter who attends Cedartown High and a son who is a student at Cedartown Middle.
My educational philosophy: Each student I teach holds a special place in my heart. I have discovered through the years that each child desires a need to succeed. I strive to provide a safe learning environment for all of my students. This is required for achievement to take place. I expect each child to give 100%, as I do myself.
