Applying to College

Applying to College:

Research, research, research!  It is important for you to do your own research on your college(s) of choice.  Every school is different and has different requirements for admission.

All postsecondary institutions have websites from which you can download an application to mail in, or you can apply online.  If we don’t find what you’re looking for on the school’s website, we can help!

It is a good idea to apply as soon as you know which school you plan to attend, or when you have narrowed your choices to about three. Because almost all institutions have an application fee, you might want to go ahead and plan for that.

The best plan is to apply before January. Even if you don’t have everything required, you can still apply and then submit additional information as soon as you can. Many colleges have a January 15 deadline. Check your college’s website for its application deadline.

Early decision deadlines are usually in the fall.  Make sure to know your deadlines and submit all of the necessary paperwork before the deadline.
