Lesson Opener: Warm-up using C, F,  B flat, E flat, & A flat Concert  Scales (depending on knowledge of scales)

Teaching Strategies : Students will rehearse on:

Beginning Band: start with general music knowledge

Intermediate Band: Essential Elements Book 2 - Continue to work through the book to the end

Advanced Band: Preparation for concerts (sight-reading) Star Spangled Banner, Military Escort, America the Beautiful

Summarizing Activities - The students will be reminded what peices they need to practice at home.

Assessment : Students may video themselves playing selected lines from their books and submit them online.

Increasing RIgor - Students should work on learning on how to "SPELL"  each scale. 

Differentiation - Students will perform pieces in sections. (IE) 1st trumpets, 2nd trumpets etc... Students have 4 ways to learn scales:

1. Note Names

2. Fingerings

3. Printed Notes

4. Whole & Half Step formula
