British Literature  

View Events/Assignments for 

British Literature is a course which traces the growth and development of literature in Great Britain from the beginnings of the English language to the present. Students will study a variety of literary genres, including the short story, novel, poetry, and drama. Students will compose several major compositions, including the literary essay. Vocabulary will be studied in this course. Grammar study will be utilized to improve the students’ writing ability. The Common Core Standards for British Literature will be covered in this course.

  • Vocabulary Quiz on Friday

    September 19, there will be a vocabulary quiz.

  • Beowulf Project

    Your Beowulf projects are due Monday, September 22, 2014.  

  • Fishbowl Discussion Test

    Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (October 8-10), we will have a fishbowl discussion as a test grade.  Wednesday will be Beowulf group, Thursday will be Canterbury Tales Prologue, and Friday will be Wife of Bath Tale.  In these discussions, I am looking for you to address the following four topics:  Cultural Values, Role of Women, Societal Expectations, and Religious Values.  Your rubric is on Schoology if you need to access.
