My name is Maggie Taylor. I absolutely LOVE teaching!!
There is not one thing that I would rather do than teach.
My love of teaching started at an early age. I was in second
grade when I realized I wanted to be a teacher. My second
grade teacher, Mr. Larry Fields, is the reason I decided to
become a teacher. His love for his students and learning was
contagious! I pray that I can make the same impact on the
lives of the children that I teach as he did on mine.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education
from the University of South Carolina and my Masters in Early
Childhood from the University of Phoenix. This will be my 23nd
year teaching. I previously taught Pre-K and kindergarten in SC.
I began teaching at Eastside Elementary and remained their for the 17 years. I spent
15 years teaching 1st grade, 1 year as an EIP teacher, and 1 year in Kindergarten.
This will be my third year at Cherokee, and I am beyond excited about teaching
2nd grade again this year.
I am a single mom to one son, AJ. AJ is a 2012 graduate of Rockmart High School.
He has studied culinary skills in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina and San Fransico, California.
I am a huge Clemson football fan, and will wear ORANGE and/or PURPLE on
Fridays and Saturdays. I love them regardless if they are winning or losing (I prefer winning
though). I also enjoy playing volleyball, tennis, and spending time at the beach.
I love teaching and am thrilled to be working with your child this year. I want
your child to love school as much I as I did so I will do my best to
make learning fun. It is my goal to open their eyes and minds to new
things every day. I am excited about getting to know you and your
child. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year.
