My Philosophy of Education

Becoming a more knowledgeable teacher and preparing my students for the future is very important to me. According to Washington and Andrews (2010), “Knowledge matters. Knowledge and assumptions are constantly changing, and professionals in all fields of endeavor have an obligation to stay current about emerging research and better practices.”  This means that educators need to learn as much as they can about child development and strategies that can be done to help children become more successful learners. I believe that a child's social-emotional development is also important. It is all about finding a proper balance between academics and social-emotional development. I believe this will help children become more successful in school and better prepare them for their future.
