Welcome to 3rd Grade Math... aka Roperville! My name is Rena Roper and this is my 17 year teaching. I love teaching! It's my true passion! I am very excited to be a part of the fabulous Third Grade team! I absolutely love working with children and take great pride in helping them shine bright just like the diamond that they are!

My Philosophy of Education

In my opinion, teaching is the most important profession!  I believe that every child learns differently and I plan for that accordingly.  Building relationships with students is the single, most important aspect of being a teacher.  When children enter "Roperville", I make it my goal to find out everything about them. I know who their brothers and sisters are, I know where they live, I know where their mom and dad work, I know what their favorite color is and I know what makes them happy and what makes them sad.  I have very high expectations of my students as well... "A diamond is merely a piece of coal that did well under pressure!" When these high expectations are met, Children believe in themselves and believe they can do anything and that... that is what teaching is all about.  When relationships are built, learning becomes second nature... it occurs all of the time. The kids that become a part of "Roperville" are a part of a family!  We laugh together, we cry together, we scream together and we celebrate EVERYTHING and we support EVERYONE!  I take great pride in my job and my children!
