About Me:
I am so excited for another great year at Cherokee Elementary! The 2020-2021 school year will be my fifth year as an educator.
I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach first graders again. It brings me so much joy to see them learn so much throughout the school year. I love hands-on learning and plan to incorporate as much of it in our curriculum as possible! I know this school year will be very different than we are all used to, but my goal is to keep my classroom a happy place for my students. I promise to keep your children in a safe, clean, and happy learning environment!
I married my high school sweetheart, Andrew, six years ago. We welcomed our first child into the world May 2019. Her name is Kambrie and she has brought so much joy to our lives! We are big animal lovers and live on a farm with our horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. Outside of work, I love spending time with my daughter, Andrew, family, and friends. I also love to travel and be outdoors! Some of my favorite activities are kayaking, swimming, hiking, and horseback riding. I enjoy going to church and my faith is a big part of who I am.
Philosophy:
One of my favorite quotes by George Evans is, “Every student can learn. Just not on the same day, or in the same way.” As an educator, I understand that all children have different needs and learning styles. I will always do my best to meet various accommodations for all my students. I will strive to create a learning environment that is positive, safe, and welcoming! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!
