Welcome to my online classroom! My name is Angie Harper.  I taught 4th grade for 30 years at Piedmont Elementary School in Piedmont, Alabama.  I retired from there and now have the honor of teaching in the Polk County School District.  I am married to Mark Harper, and we have two daughters, Ally and Marley Shay.  I get to share my home with a 3 lb. Yorkie named Oakley and a Yorkie-Poo named Luna.

My Philosophy of Education 

Being a teacher is one of the highest honors I possess. To have the privilege of holding a child’s life in my hands is like receiving a gift. Every child deserves to be treated with respect, love, and kindness. This should not be given to them according to their wealth, intelligence, or cleanliness. Children may not remember a lesson you spent hours preparing, but they will always remember how I made them feel. Each child should be listened to with a caring ear. They have many things on their minds and want to share them with me. I will let them know I care about them and their feelings. I have a passion for teaching since I have stayed in the profession for 30+ years. I never dread a Monday morning since I enjoy what I do. I feel like it is an honor to be called an elementary school educator.
