I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with an add-on in Elementary from Jacksonville State University. I received my Masters of Library Science from the University of West Alabama.

Hello, my name is Christy Ford and I have been a librarian for 11 years. This is my 4th year with Polk County School District as a Media Specialist.
I am originally from Cherokee County, Alabama. My husband and I have lived in Coosa, Georgia for 9 years. We have 4 children and 2 wonderful grandsons that keeps us on our toes. We have one sweet wired-haired Jack Russell, Ranger. I enjoy reading, cooking, swimming, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I am extremely excited about the up and coming school year and the Media Center! Thank you for sharing your sweet children and allowing me to share my love of reading with them.
I believe the media center is a critical component of student learning in the 21st Century. The media center should be the heart of the school. The library should be a welcoming place where questions are encouraged and knowledge is gained. I want students to come often to the library and see it as a place to receive support as well as inspiration. I strive to provide support promptly and pleasantly to staff, students, community and guest.
