Greetings, Van Wert Community! 

I would like to introduce myself to you as the PROUD Principal of Van Wert Elementary School. As a servant leader, I look forward to working with the staff and community to build a bright future for our scholars. There are several experiences in my personal life as well as my 20 years in education that have prepared me to serve you in the role of Principal. I am a graduate of the University of West Georgia, where I received a bachelor's and master's degree in biology, and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I am happily married to my wife Christal, and we have two young adult children. I began my educational career as a high school teacher in Fulton County. As a school administrator, I have worked in both Fulton and Carroll Counties and have elementary, middle, and high school experience. 

My goal as Principal is to provide a supportive presence and strong leadership that will create an environment for each student to reach their greatest academic and social potential. I am committed to fully preparing our Van Wert Jackets for success beyond elementary school. I will dedicate time and effort to getting acquainted with students and getting to know their personalities, learning styles, and interests. I pledge to celebrate their successes, both small and large. I seek to build a culture that provides encouragement and efficacy. Our students should be confident that they are valued and have a special place in our school, the Rockmart community, and in our world. 

Again, I am so very thankful to have the opportunity to serve in the Rockmart community at Van Wert Elementary as Principal. Please know that I am committed to the progress of Van Wert's achievements and look forward to continued partnership with the staff and the community.
