I am beginning my 27th year of teaching. I taught for 7 years in Alabama, and for 17 years taught at Goodyear/Van Wert Elementary. Last year was my second year at CMS, and it was an amazing year! I am excited to begin my 20th year teaching in Georgia. I still live in Alabama, but will make the commute to CMS every day.

I believe that all children deserve to be taught in the way they learn best. That is why I teach using a variety of activities that help the brain learn; from hands-on, visual, and auditory learning, to an integration of technology. I love learning and try to convey my love of learning to my students to encourage them to be active and life-long learners.

I have one daughter, Megan, who is 30. She is my life and my best friend. She attended Jacksonville State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in English/Literature. This is her 5th year teaching, and she is teaching 7th Grade ELA at CMS! She got married July 18, 2015!! Her husband is Stefan King and he is an assistant manager for Flowers Bread Store.

I love teaching, reading, singing, movies, purple, traveling, chocolate, Star Wars, Steve Perry, 80s music, and ice cream. My favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson, Suzanne Collins, JK Rolling, Marissa Meyers, Mary Downing Hahn, and Margaret Peterson Haddix. I also love Alabama football. Roll Tide!!
