I received my Bachelor of Science in both Elementary and Early Chidhood Education from Jacksonville State University in 1988. I began working in the Anniston City School System while attending school at night and in the summer. I received my Masters Degree in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education in 1990. I continued my teaching career in Anniston while pursuing my Educational Specialist degree which I received in 1993. After twelve years in the Anniston School system I moved to the Calhoun County School System teaching at Alexandria Elementary for one year and finally White Plains where i remained for 17 years teaching various grade levels. Although I was always homed at White Plains I was able to travel from school to school serving as an Instructional Coach and Reading Coach for many years. My love for teaching has increased over the years through teaching students and directing teachers in ways to improve the quality of instruction.
Ms. Tamara Morris
Hello. I am Tamara Morris and I will be teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade Language Arts Connections this year. This is my second year at CMS as I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading last year. Having taught 30 years in Alabama education is not new to me! I have taught Kindergarten, First,Third, Fourth and Fifth grades as well as 8th Grade Language Arts for 6 years. I have also served as an Instructional Coach in the Elementary, Middle and High School settings. I would love to tell you that I have seen it all, been there, done that, but as we all learned from the 2019-20 school year anything can and will happen! This is why I LOVE teaching!! Every day is different, each presenting new challenges that we all can and will conquer! I look forward to working with you all this year!
PHILOSOPHY: My philosophy of education is very simple. All children can learn something! it is up to us as educators to help them find that something and give them the necessary keys to unlock that potential.
