My teaching certifications in Georgia are in Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education, 6-12 History, and 6-12 Political Science. I am also the tennis coach at Cedartown High School, and I previously taught for 12 years at Northside Elementary. I am also involved in local government as a Cedartown city commissioner. I am very excited to begin a new chapter here at CMS!
What I believe
I'm passionate about making sure you're not only "book smart," but that you grow to be good, well-rounded people--people who know about our place in the world, can think critically and openly, and can see the good, the bad, and the ugly, from all sides and points of view. In my class, we leave preconceptions, biases, and labels at the door. I believe that no matter where you come from, you can make great gains in your own education; it's my job to provide a welcoming, safe, and learning-conducive environment, and it's your job to open your mind and do your best. This is a winning recipe that can increase your opportunities for a successful and fulfilling life!
I know that this year will present a unique set of challenges, but with good attitudes and perseverance, we can get through this...And we will, together!
