Mr. Matthew Duncan
Mr. Matthew Duncan is the new Director of Bands at Cedartown Middle School and is starting his 5th year of teaching.
grew up in Woodstock Georgia. Prior to joining the CMS team in 2020 Mr. Duncan was the band director for three years at Bremen Middle School in the Bremen City School District and music specialist for one year at Cotton Indian Elementary School in the Henry County School District. Bands under his direction have received Excellent and Superior ratings at all Georgia Large Group Performance Evaluations and consistently placed students in the District and All State Bands. Mr. Duncan and his wife Alana live in west Dallas and have one four year old french bulldog named Bella. Go Bulldogs!
I believe that all students can be successful in band class if they work hard and buy into the process. Band is one of the only activities that requires everyone to work together correctly at the same time create truly superior results. With guided practice, encouragement, and the belief that every student can succeed we will have a fantastic year in the CMS band room!!
