I received my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from University of West Georgia. I taught high school geography for 4 years. After taking a break from education, I went back to school to obtain my Master's degree in Special Education from Kennesaw State University. I taught at the elementary level for 14 years as a special education teacher as well as general education teacher. I then began teaching 6th grade and fell in love with middle school! I have taught middle school ever since. I have just started school yet again to obtain my Specialist degree in Instructional Technology. I am excited for this adventure!

Hi! My name is Laurie Burton and welcome to my online classroom! This is my 24th year teaching and my 2nd year at Cedartown Middle School. I have taught all ages and grades, with the exception of Kindergarten. This year I am teaching all subjects in 6th and 7th grade and 8th Georgia Studies.
Educational Philosophy: I believe that EVERY student has the opportunity to learn something new everyday whether it be academics or life lessons. I like to encourage my students to do whatever it takes to reach their goals. Nothing is unobtainable!!!
