I graduated from Cedartown High School in 1992. I then attended and graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1996. I have a Bachelors in Science and a minor in Forensic Science.

I then went to work for the City of Atlanta Police Department from 1997 to 2002. While working for the City of Atlanta, I worked as a patrolman. I then went to work for the Polk County Police Department from 2002 to 2011. While with the Polk County Police, I worked as a Patrolman, School Resource Officer and an Investigator. I have been teaching at the Polk County College and Career Academy since 2011.
