After a year working for Georgia Power, I enrolled in the Ph.D. Program at Emory University in the School of Medicine's Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis Program. After two years there, I transferred to JSU, receiving a M.S.Ed. in Secondary Science Education, and later, an Ed.S. in the same field from the State University of West Georgia. I have been teaching science for 23 years, and I love it!! This year, I will be teaching Anatomy and Honors Biology, and Biology. I am married to Greg McElwee, and we have 3 beautiful daughters, Jessi (23), Suzanna (17), and Graci (16).
