Hi! My name is Hillari Zuker Knight and I am the art teacher at Cedartown High School. I’m originally from Cedartown and graduated from CHS. I live on a small farm with my husband, Darren, our 2 boys, Xander & Zane, 1 dog, Max, and 3 bunnies, Hershey, Lily, & Checkers. I am so excited to be back home and to be a part of the CHS community, working with staff, students and parents to create an exciting learning experience for everyone!
Art and design is my passion and I’ve been teaching art in some form for 15 years. It’s a passion that started at an early age. As a child, I created posters stating the reasons why I NEEDED a pony. This simple poster design turned my pony passion into an art and design passion. I could not stop creating! I drew, painted, and sculpted. Until one faithful day, I was introduced to Macintosh. With my Mac, I learned how to design and illustrate electronically. I was (and still am) in love! Designing eventually lead me down the education path allowing me to teach and inspire future artist and designers. I explored and grew my teaching strategies at Floyd County College and Career Academy, Unity Christian School, and Marietta Middle.
While at the College and Career Academy, I attended Georgia State and earned my teacher credential. I also became the SkillsUSA Region 1 chairperson and help host numerous SkillsUSA competitions. During my time at Unity, I hosted several art shows and at Marietta Middle, I became familiar with teaching online art and virtual art shows.
