A quote that I will always share with my students is from a song lyric by Jason Isbell: "However long the night, the dawn will break again." The thought conveyed by this lyric is as follows: If yesterday was bad, do everything you can to make today better.
I am entering my seventh year at Cedartown High School. This will be my ninth year teaching in the Polk School District system. I look forward to helping every student that I come into contact with at Cedartown High School. I have enjoyed the time that I have gotten to spend within the Polk School District system the past nine years. The classes I will be teaching this year are GSE Geometry, Foundations of Algebra, and Earth Systems Science. It is my goal, in these classes, to keep every student on track for graduation.
I am 45 years old. I am the proud husband to Julie Patterson Kirsch and father to our two lovely daughters being Maggie and Melanie. I married my wonderful wife, and became father to my two daughters, in October of 2014. For the next eight years I worked in the mortgage industry. In 2003 I returned to school and took full course loads for the next two and a half years and graduated with a BS Ed. degree in Physical Education and Health Education in 2005. I completed my MS Ed. degree in Physical Education within the next year. In 2008 I completed my Ed S. degree in Education.
