My name is Jennifer Cupp, and this is my 20th year in the classroom! I LOVE being a Cedartown BULLDOG!
I have been married to Wesley Cupp for sixteen years, and we have two mischievous dogs, Daisy and Libby. I love to inspire students to read and write!
My philosophy of teaching is that I believe every child can learn. George Evans, professor at the University of Oregon, says "Every student can learn, just not the same day or the same way." It is up to the teacher to find what that child loves and try to incorporate it into the curriculum whether it is through writing, poetry, or reading. By meeting a child where they are and what they love to do outside of school, the students will become more engaged and will care more about assignments. While this may not be possible for each and every assignment, I feel that it is the job of the teacher to at least begin with this interesting strategy so that students are more likely to buy in to the curriculum for the remainder of the year.
