Hello! My name is Mike Bennefield. This is my first year at Cedartown High School but my 28th year in education. I retired from Alabama after teaching and coaching for 25 years in various schools to include Tuscaloosa County High School, Oneonta High School, Prattville High School, Slocomb High School, Charles Henderson High School, Piedmont High School, Jacksonville State University, and The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
I have been working at Haralson County schools for the past 2 years. I earned veteran status in 1991 while serving during the Gulf War in Desert Storm as a member of the Army Reserve.
I have been married to my wife, Amy for 26 years. She is a math teacher at Piedmont High School in Alabama. We have three children. Mitchell graduated in December from UAB with a degree in social science education and is employed as a history teacher and coach in Baldwin County, AL. Micah is a member of the Alabama National Guard and is employed in Jacksonville, AL. Our youngest, Addison is a freshmen at Piedmont High. She is a company member of the Alabama Christian Dance Theatre in Jacksonville.
I am excited to be a Bulldog and look forward to working with my students and this community! Go Bulldogs!
