My name is Jonathan Thomas and I coordinate the In-School Suspension (ISS) program at Rockmart High School. Prior to this year, I was the Assistant Principal at Rockmart Middle School and Van Wert Elementary School. In addition, my teaching experience has included being a high school weight lifting instructor at Rockmart High School, middle school alternative school teacher at Rockmart Middle School, and high school public safety teacher at Woodstock High School.

my Educational Specialist Degree from Columbus State University. This is my fourth year with Polk School District and eighteenth year working in education. I have worked in Cherokee County School District and Cartersville City Schools as well. Before going into education, I was in law enforcement, working in many roles including School Resource Officer.

In addition to my ISS position, I am also the Assistant Head Football Coach at Rockmart High School where I coach Running Backs. My wife, Katherine, also works in the district, and we have four children, Emily, Hannah, Logan and Reed, and two grandchildren, Jordan and Jace.
