This year, I embark on my 27th year in education. I look forward to continuing my career here at Rockmart High School and have enjoyed my last three years here as the Directed Studies Teacher. As most of you know, I spent several years at Van Wert Elementary as the Assistant Principal and have also served as Assistant Principal at Cherokee Elementary, Northside Elementary and Rockmart Middle School. While I sometimes miss my time in administration, I have enjoyed returning to the teacher arena where I can assist students more directly.
As Directed Studies teacher, my job is to assist high school students in completing credit recovery and making up tests and assignments. I also strive to encourage them throughout the school year to stay on top of their studies and offer them a place before and after school to work on assignments. I am very happy to be in the classroom and especially excited to work at my alma mater, Rockmart High School.
I believe all students have the potential to learn and be successful. I feel motivation is the key and I strive to provide real world examples to motivate and encourage students to do their best work. I have seen hardworking students throughout this school year and I know they will be successful in the end. I will continue to assist students in assignments and credit recovery as we countdown this school year. Go Jackets!
