Biography: This is my 3rd year at RHS as the assistant principal of curriculum & instruction. I have 21 years of experience in education and even taught here at RHS for 17 years. I am a Rockmart native and I have lived here all of my life. I am married to my high school sweetheart and I have three children. My daughter Avery is 22 and she is a senior nursing student at Shorter University. My son Ty is a senior at RHS and is committed to go to LSU in the fall on a full baseball scholarship. My youngest son Noah is in the 9th grade here at RHS and a member of the RHS golf team.
Education: I majored in Secondary Science Education with a strong focus in Biology. In 2005, I went back to school to get a master's degree in technology integration. I also attended Berry College and received an Ed.S degree in educational leadership.
Philosophy of Education: I truly believe that all students can learn if they are motivated. In today's world, students must be constantly engaged to be successful. All classes, especially science, should be hands-on and interactive. Also, teachers should use a variety of delivery methods to reach all students . I believe that technology should absolutely be integrated into the classroom, but that students still need to read , write, and work out problems. Most importantly, I believe that students need to know that teachers care about them. Classrooms should be positive, encouraging environments. The number one key to student success is building relationships!
I bleed BLACK AND GOLD. I love RHS and there is nowhere in the world that I would rather be. I am so proud of our teachers and our students and I love seeing them succeed. GO Jackets!!!
