My teaching career began in 2002 after I received a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Shorter College. In 2007, I received a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Jacksonville State University. In 2011, I earned a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.

My name is Debbie Godfrey. I have been married for 22 years to my wonderful husband, Lance. We live in Rockmart with our two daughters.
I have been blessed to teach for 18 years. I taught Kindergarten for twelve years, and this will be my seventh year teaching 2nd grade. I love teaching, and each year I look forward to getting to know every child and their families.
I believe each student comes to my classroom with special and unique talents. I believe my job is not only to teach subject material but to show every student in my classroom they are loved and respected. As an educator my goal is for all of my students to reach his/her full potential and I believe with hard work and perseverance all goals can be accomplished. I want to encourage my students to be life long learners!
