Hello! My name is Sarah Lake. I have been teaching for ten years and this is my third year teaching at Young's Grove. I was born in Seattle, Washington.
I began teaching at a private school for children with learning disabilities, and worked there for three years. Then I moved to Gainesville, Florida where I taught first grade for four years! I loved it! It is rewarding to see how much each student flourishes from the beginning of the year to the end! Three years ago, my family and I decided to move to Rome, Georgia to be closer to the rest of our family and the beautiful mountains. I have been at Young's Grove ever since, working in the Special Education department.
Teaching is truly a work from the heart with rewarding experiences every day! Celebrate the small stuff! I love seeing the students faces every morning with their bright smiles, ready to make me laugh. It brings me continued joy to see the light turn on in their eyes as they grow, learn, and begin to understand the world around them.
