My name is Tabitha Burch. This is my fourth year at Youngs Grove Elementary as well as my fourth year in education.
My Philosophy of Teaching
It’s important to:
Build trust and a positive learning environment for ALL students.
Hear the need and respond appropriately.
Be given the opportunity of a fresh start every day.
Hear frequent and positive feedback.
This builds confidence and by building confidence, children will learn that it is safe to take risks. The most important thing I hope my students learn is even if they fail, you get back up and try again. Never stop and never give up because you learn from your mistakes. Every child is different and learn in different ways. I feel it is important for me to continue to learn and grow as an educator, so I can learn to teach ALL learners.
The goals in my classroom are simple: To learn new skills, discover new interests, make new friends, and most of all have FUN as we all support each other.
“Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” – Rita Pierson
