Degrees and Certifications:

I received my Bachelors degree from West Georgia College in Early Childhood Education. I received my Masters degree from Kennesaw State University.

Mrs. Cassie McAlister

Here is a little bit about myself. This is my 27th year of teaching. Over the years, I have enjoyed teaching in a variety of settings including both regular and special education.  This will be my third year teaching fifth grade.

My philosophy of education is simple. Follow the "Golden Rule, " which is to treat others the way that you would want to be treated. I strive to treat students, parents, and colleagues with the same kindness and high expectations that I would want for my own children, myself as a parent, and for myself as a team member.

On a personal note, I feel very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family.  My husband's name is Greg. We have three grown  children with families of their own:  Shannon, Chase, and Brandon. We also have a 12 year old daughter, Christina. One of my favorite things to do is spend time with our grandchildren. Being a "Gramzie" is the best!  I can't leave out our fur babies. We have two little westies named Hootie aka "The Shredder"  and Gracie aka "The Couch Potato." We also have a nice little one eyed cat named Inky Binky Winky.

Even though these are unusual times we are living in, we will work hard to get through it TOGETHER!

I am, as always, looking forward to a fantastic, learning filled school year ahead!

Important Information

  • If Your Student Needs To Be Out

Teachers are working hard to post the work we are doing in class on Google Classroom every week so that your child does not get behind while having to be out.

Please use the link to the left to go to Google Classroom or your child can log in just as they are used to doing in class every day.  You will see posts for each class each day with instructions and links for you to access.

Tests and daily grades are not typically excused. It would be better for your student to go ahead and do them while the class is doing them so that it is not so overwhelming when they return to school.  Teachers have been instructed to enter zeroes for test and daily grades until they are completed by the student. (Zeroes can be very damaging to the grade you see on your child's report card.)

Of course, if your student is sick and doesn't feel up to doing the work right then, we understand. By all means, your student should work on it when feeling better.

I hope you have saved my number when I have contacted you this year from my cell phone.  I am more than happy to text or talk to you to any time you need me.

I am loving getting to know and teaching all of my students this year, and I appreciate all of your support from home.
