Why Polk School District?

  • Polk School District is a dynamic public school district located in Polk County, Georgia. We serve over 7,800 students across eleven schools throughout the Polk County community. This includes two high schools, one college and career academy, two middle schools, and six elementary schools.

  • Chaz Shelton being sworn in as a Polk County Police Officer

    Chaz Shelton, a 2020 graduate of Cedartown High School, was sworn in as a Polk County Police Office in July. Upon graduation, Chaz knew he wanted to serve in Law Enforcement in some capacity. He had completed the Criminal Investigations pathway at Polk County College and Career Academy and enrolled in the Dual Enrollment program his senior year. After graduation, Chaz enrolled in the Georgia Northwestern Technical College to work towards his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. The first part of this program incudes completing the Basic Law Enforcement Certificate!

  • Jesse Anderson 

    Polk School District is PROUD to recognize 2021 graduate of Cedartown High School, Mr. Jesse Anderson. Upon graduation, Jesse joined the Air Force and has been at Lackland Air Force Base for the past eight and a half weeks completing Basic Military Training (BMT). This past Thursday, September 9, 2021, Jesse graduated from Basic Training! Thank you for your service to our country and community! We are #PSDProud!
