Our Charleston Wrap fundraiser begins today!  Please make sure to review the items in the packet that was sent home with you child.  The fundraiser runs through September 12.  All proceeds benefit the school, and the products really are top quality!  Thank you for your help with this!

August 30:      Thursday 5 pm-10 pm

August 31:      Friday      5 pm-11 pm

Kindergarten Parent Meeting

Renaissance Prowl Awards for Tuesday, May 22:

Boys and Girls Club Closed

The boys and girls club will be closed next Thursday and Friday, May 24-25.  If your child usually rides there in the afternoons please make sure to make other transportation arrangements.

Spelling Bee

Congratulations to our Spelling Bee participants!  We had an exciting and lengthy bee on Wednesday, January 10.  These are some very bright young students who continued to amaze us with their spelling abilities!  Graham Stewart was our winner and Balei Harrison was our runner-up.  Graham will compete at the district bee on February 1.

Musical Productions

Our musical productions will be held Tuesday, December 5 at the Cedartown Auditorium.  Our pre-k-2nd grades will perform "Christmas at the O.K. Corral" at 6:00 pm and 3rd-5th grades will perform "Santa's Holiday Hoedown" at 8:00 pm.  Our students have been working hard and are excited to perform.  Tickets are still available and are $5 each for general admission.  We hope to see you there!

Lost and Found

Once again we have an overflowing lost and found!  It is full of jackets, coats, and sweatshirts.  If your child is missing an item please have them check our lost and found.  Anything not claimed by Friday, December 22 will be donated over the holiday break.

Veterans' Day Program

Our annual Veterans' Day program will be held on Friday, November 10 at 9:30 am.  In the newsletter is a form to fill out if there is a veteran in your family who is able to come and be one of our honored guests. Please send in the form so we can have a count of our guests as soon as possible.  We also need pictures of veterans from your family for our slide show.  You can send pictures to agravett@polk.k12.ga.us.  All pictures must be submitted NO LATER than Friday, November 3.

Fall Carnival

Come out with the whole family to our Fall Carnival/Spooky Science Night on Monday, October 30 from 5:00-8:00 pm.  We will have games, a haunted house, spooky science activities, and our book fair will be open!  This promises to be a fun night for everyone.  Mark your calendar now!

Annual Title I Meeting

We will have two opportunities for you to attend our annual Title I meeting on Monday, October 9.  The morning meeting will be at 9:00 am and the afternoon meeting will be at 5:00 pm.  If you have any questions you can contact our Parent Involvement Coordinator--Candy Meers at the school at (770)748-0831.

Road Closings Due to Law Enforcement Activity 9/29/17

The Polk County Police Department has indicated that the following roads are closed for an indefinite amount of time this afternoon:

Short Road
John Redding Road
Seab Green Road
Friendship Road
Highway 100
Cave Springs Road
Santa Claus Mountain Road

The following bus numbers are not allowed to deliver to these roads:
23-11
24-02
21-04

If your residence is located on these roads, your child will remain at their school. Please feel free to pick your child up at this time. Personnel will remain at school until we are given clearance to run these routes. We apologize for this inconvenience, but the safety of our students is our top priority.
