Principal's Message

from Dr. Wilds

I am privileged to have the opportunity to serve as the new principal at Van Wert Elementary School! With 19 years of experience in education, I am excited to work with a highly qualified and dedicated staff, the wonderful students, supportive families, and the amazing community of Rockmart.

I grew up in Statesboro, Georgia and attended school in the Bulloch County School District. I received my undergraduate and master’s degrees from Georgia Southern University in Early Childhood Education and Educational Leadership.  These degrees helped form my leadership and teaching approach.  To better understand the role and responsibilities of being a school leader, I continued my education at Walden University to earn my Specialist’s and Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership in 2014.  My wife, Jennifer, is a teacher at Youngs Grove Elementary School. We have three wonderful children, Brody (8), Annalea (4), and Adaline (2).

I look forward to meeting each and every community member of Van Wert.  If there is anything I can help with, please don’t hesitate to call.  Go Jackets!

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Wilds and his family to Rockmart!
