Our district is participating in MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing this year. Students K-5 will be tested in Reading and Math. 3rd-5th will also be tested in Language Arts. We will test in Fall, Winter, and Spring to check the academic growth of each child.

Spotlight on Staff

Baxter

Mrs. Baxter graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. This is her tenth year teaching at Eastside Elementary School. I was a Kindergarten paraprofessional in Paulding County for four years before she became a teacher  in Polk County. She is married to my highschool sweetheart, David, and she has two children, Ava and Lucas.

Mrs. Baxter began this school year teacher some of our fourth and fifth grade students with special needs, however, she is now  teaching kindergarten. She is very excited with her new position and is loving getting to work with those sweet babies everyday.

We are thankful for Mrs. Baxter and all she does for Eastside!
