One of my favorite things about teaching is getting to know my students. Each student is individual and they are made up of their own interests, habits, and quirks, just like I am! I look forward to getting to know a new group this year, but I also want to introduce myself to you. I was born and raised in Cedartown and I truly do love my little hometown. I'm thankful to raise my daughter here as well. We enjoy spending time with each other and our family, spending time outside, and traveling together. We are avid Atlanta Braves fans and we also enjoy cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs & Atlanta Falcons.
I am a 2006 Cedartown High School graduate and received my bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of West Georgia in 2010. I added on Middle Grades Math and Science to my certificate in 2010 as well. I then decided to futher my education and received my master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Nova Southeastern University in 2012. I added my gifted certification in 2013 and google certification in 2017.
I began my teaching career at Haralson County Middle School where I taught Math & Science from 2010 until 2018, which is when I was led to Cedartown Middle School. During my time at CHS, I have taught Directed Studies, 6th grade gifted/advanced math, and physical education. This year, I will be teaching physical education and two 6th grade gifted/advanced math classes. I will also be coaching the CMS girls volleyball team.
I truly believe that every student that comes through the doors of CMS has the ability to achieve great things. I have always loved how each student is different and I believe that part of my job is to find the potential in each student and help them reach their goals in my classroom and in their future. I strive to make each student feel as special as I know they are. My goal is to make sure every student that enters and exits my room knows that I am here to support, encourage, challenge, and cheer them on as they reach their goals.
