Principal's Message

CMS
Shannon Hulsey
Principal

It is my honor to serve as CMS Principal again for the 2019-2020 School Year.  I am so very pleased to announce that our Faculty has/will be visiting the Ron Clark Academy for specialized training that will improve the climate and foster positive interactions at CMS like nothing we have ever seen before.  We are in the early stages of implementing a new student incentive and behavioral management program in conjunction with this training, called the CMS House System.  Through this program, and with the help of our dedicated faculty and staff members, we have many great things planned to encourage academic excellence, student success, and positive relationships throughout our entire school.  It is definitely going to be a bright year!

Tiffani Russell
Assistant Principal - Curriculum/Testing

I am so excited to begin this new phase of my career in education at CMS.  I was born and raised in Cedartown. I graduated from CHS in 1988. I graduated from Samford University in 1993 with a math and Spanish degree.  I obtained my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2012 from Armstrong State University. Last year I earned my certification in Educational Leadership.  This is my 26th year in education – almost all of it has been at the high school level.  I look forward to learning as much as I can about how middle schools work and how to make the most out of the three years our students spend at CMS.
