All library books are now due!  Check with the media center to see which books you have checked out.


RHS Golf Team Members Meet Tom Glavine

The RHS Boys Golf team met former Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine at Blessed Trinity High School. He was the guest speaker at the AAA Golf Championship Banquet.


Band Camp

Rookie Band Camp (for all new marching band members) will take place from July 21-23 from 9am to noon each day.

Band Camp will be held July 27-31 and August 3-7, from 9am to 6pm each day. Please contact David Snipes for more information.

IPad Information

All students (Sr. and Underclass) may not exempt exams unless they have turned in their iPad. The date to turn in iPads for Seniors  will be May 22nd. All underclassmen must turn in iPads on May 29th.  

Seniors can purchase their iPads during the week of May 18th for $150.00. Mrs. Luke will be in the media center each morning from 7:30 to 8:00 to accept payments. Only cash and money orders will be accepted (No Exceptions!). The last day to purchase will be May 22nd.


Congratulations to our College-Bound Seniors

 

We recently recognized our college-bound seniors who have submitted their college acceptance letters to the guidance office. We are so proud of these students, and we wish them the best as they begin the next phase of their educational careers.

Senior Honor Luncheon

The Senior Honor Luncheon was held Thursday, May 7, at the Pizza Farm restaurant. This luncheon honored the Top 5 Seniors in the class as well as the seniors who received "Honorable Mention" during the Senior Project Presentations. Congratulations to all these fine students!

A special thank-you to our Superintendent Dr. Hunter and members of our Polk School District Board who celebrated the day with our students. 


Dress Code

GED Classes

The GNTC - Polk Campus will begin Saturday GED classes on June 6, 2015 from 9am - 3pm.

Testing Policies

During standardized testing, students will not be allowed to carry bags, bookbags, or any electronic devices (phones, iPads, Apple watches, calculators, calculators watches, etc) in the testing classroom. These items must be left outside the testing room, per state testing guidelines.

Mobile Minds University 2015

We are excited to announce PSD will host the 2nd annual Mobile Minds University, July 20-22, 2015, at Westside Elementary School. PSD is transforming learning through technology by engaging the MOBILE MINDS in our classrooms.  We will be providing 32 sessions in specific content areas to help teachers create innovative lessons as we continue to transform delivery of instruction with engaging technology lessons. REGISTER HERE to attend. Registration is open ONLY to PSD employees until April 18th. After that date, it will be open to the public & PSD employees.

Congratulations to Nick Forsyth and Ansley Rainey, chosen by the faculty as Mr and Miss RHS, and Nick Forsyth and Madison McCrary, chosen by the senior class as Mr and Miss Yellow Jacket!


STAR Student/STAR Teacher

Congratulations to the RHS STAR Student and Polk School District STAR Student, Miss Ansley Rainey!  Ansley received this award for having the highest SAT score of any senior in Polk School District. Ansley chose Mr. Matt Johnson, her former English teacher, as her STAR Teacher.

DDS Certificate of Attendance

Please remember that you must request a DDS Certificate of Attendance in the front office at least 24 hours before you need it. This is the certificate you need to get your learner's license or your driver's license. These forms cannot be ready immediately; the front office will need at least 24 hours to complete them.


Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mr. Jeff Hawkins, the 2014-2015 RHS Teacher of the Year!  Mrs. Williams  surprised Mr. Hawkins with a gift card and his favorite--honey buns!
