Picture Day

Fall school pictures will be made on Tues, Oct 7th.  Senior retakes will also be on Oct 7th.


Students, please remember that to be on Renaissance for next  semester, your grades must be above an 85 in EVERY class for this semester.  Keep working hard and keep those grades up!

All Renaissance students will receive a free slushy during lunch this Friday 9/19.  Please bring your Renaissance Card to show for your ticket.

Polk County Fair

The Polk County Fair will run through Saturday, September 20, so go out and show your support! The Exchange Club provides scholarships annually to Polk School District students made possible by fair proceeds. Polk School District salutes this civic organization for their generous contributions to education and the community. 

Kappa Pi Beta Meeting

There will be a Kappa Pi Beta meeting for all accepted members on Thursday morning in the media center at 7:15.  Breakfast will be provided.  You will receive an acceptance or denial letter in homeroom Wednesday morning.

Student Council

Student council members who are in good standing need to see Mrs. Lanham in Room 328 by Wednesday, September 17 in order to let her know that you wish to run for your office. Students wishing to run for student council representative or class officer for the first time need to pick up an application from Mrs. Lanham by Friday, September 12 and return the completed application by Wednesday, September 17. 

Class Rings

Due to a scheduling conflict with Jostens, we will not be having the class ring ceremony on Oct 8th as previously planned.  Class rings will be delivered directly to students on Sept 24th during all three lunches.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Title I Meeting

Parents: Please plan to attend a Title I meeting in the RHS Media Center on September 23rd. There will be two meetings, one held from 10:00-10:30 am and another held from 6:00-6:30 pm.  Please plan to attend the meeting time that is most convenient for you. The 6:00 meeting will be followed by College Fair Night at 6:30.  

Parent Financial Aid Meeting

RHS will host the annual Parent Financial Aid Meeting on February 24, 2015. A representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will present information to assist families with completing the FAFSA and other financial aid information.

Apply to College Day
RHS will have the 2014 Apply to College Day on November 4, 2014. Counselors and staff will be available to assist senior students with their college applications.
Sign up with Mrs. Wilson in the guidance office.

Carroll County Probe Fair
RHS will be attending the Carroll County Probe Fair at the University of West Georgia on September 24, 2014. 
Sign-ups will be on a first come-first serve basis for the first 45 senior students. There will be a $5.00 charge to offset the cost of transportation.
Sign up in the guidance office with Mrs. Wilson.

College Fair Night
RHS will host a College Fair Night on September 23, 2014 beginning at 6:30 in the RHS Commons Area. There will be representatives from more than 10 colleges and universities on site to speak to students and parents about their colleges, admissions and financial aid information.
Parents and students in the 11th and 12th grade are invited to attend. This meeting will follow the annual Title I meeting which begins at 6:00.

Military Day

Any student interested in learning about attending one of the military academies is invited to attend Military Academy Day on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Sonoraville High School. See Mrs. Wilson or her website for more information.

Senior Pictures

Senior picture albums will be delivered during lunch on September 10.  Representatives will be back on October 7 to pick up orders. 

10th Grade PSAT

All 10th graders will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 29th. Please come by the guidance office to pick up a practice/study guide. The PSAT is an early indicator of how well you will do on the SAT. You can use your test information to determine what you need to practice before taking the actual SAT for college admission.

Congratulations to Coach Steve Luke for his 300th win as an RHS varsity softball coach! Thanks for all you do for Rockmart athletics!
