One Act Play

Please come support our RHS Thespians as they present their One Act play "Proof" at the Arts Center Theatre in downtown Rockmart. Shows will be Thursday, Oct 15 at 7:00pm, Saturday, Oct 17 at 5:00pm, and Sunday, Oct 18 at 3:00pm. Tickets will be on sale at the door. 

Title I and iPad 101

October 13th is the  Annual Title I meeting in the media center. We have the meeting two times  for your convenience: 10:00am and 5:30pm.

Ipad 101 for Parents is October 13th at 6:00. This is a brief tutorial on how your child is using their Ipad in class. You may bring your child's Ipad or we will provide one for you to use that night.

Rock After Dark

Mondays from 6pm to 8pm and Wednesdays 4pm to 6pm, we will have the media center open for students. Students will be allowed to use wifi, desk top computers, etc. to complete OLC or internet related assignments.  Any student is welcome to come and work on school assignments. 

Congratulations to the RHS Band!

Congratulations to the RHS on their fantastic performance at the Bowden Invitational on Saturday, September 26.  The Drum line received an Excellent rating, and the Band received an overall Superior rating!  The Colorguard received a Superior rating and also received a Second place overall win in their division. Drum Majors Caitlin Crete and Zayne Waits received a Superior rating and also received an overall First place win in their division! Way to go!!!

Spirit Week (Oct 12-16)


MONDAY (Oct 12): Movie Character Monday (Dress as your favorite character from a movie)

               TUESDAY (Oct 13): Tourist Tuesday (Wear your lamest tourist gear: Hawaiian shirt with socks & sandals for example)

               WEDNESDAY (Oct 14): Winter Wonderland Wednesday (Wear your favorite tacky holiday sweater!)

               THURSDAY (Oct 15): Throwback Thursday (Decade day: freshman- 60's, sophomores- 70's, juniors- 80's, seniors- 90's)

        FRIDAY (Oct 16): RHS spirit day

Learner's License and Driver's License

Remember that you must have a Certificate of Enrollment when you go to get your Learner's License. When you go to get your Driver's License, you must have both a Certificate of Enrollment and an ADAP form.  These forms are available in the main office from Mrs. Gamel, but there is a 24 hour turnaround time to prepare them. Please make sure that you request these forms in plenty of time before your appointment. Make sure that you plan ahead around school holidays.

College Night

Parents and students: Please plan to attend College Night at RHS on October 20, from 6:30-8:00pm in the Commons area.  Admission representatives from many colleges will be here to give out information and answer your questions. 

Homecoming Early Release Days

Parent Financial Aid Meeting

RHS will host the annual Parent Financial Aid Meeting on February 18, 2015. A representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will present information to assist families with completing the FAFSA and other financial aid information.

In order to improve Lexile levels, students are are being encouraged to read, read, read! Students can choose from a variety of books on myON and in our school library. Check out this video to see the awesome collection of books for high school students!


Parents: Please make sure to set up a PowerSchool account to check your child's grades and attendance. You can pick up user ID information in the main office.

Tardy Policy

Students are expected to be on time to school and to class. Students are allowed three tardies per school year. (There is no distinction between a tardy to school or a tardy to class – they are viewed the same.) Upon the fourth tardy and each tardy thereafter, the student will receive detention (morning, lunch, or afternoon). Should the student accumulate 8 tardies, he/she will receive 1 day of ISS.

Student Check Out Deadline

Parents: Due to the traffic concerns, there will be no student check outs through the main office after 2:45 each day. Please keep this new policy in mind when scheduling after school appointments. 

Academic Lab

The Academic Lab is open every day from 7:20-7:55 and 3:20-4:00.

Fall Pictures

Fall pictures for underclassmen and Senior portrait re-takes will be held on October 22. Retakes will be Nov 16.
