Meet Your School Counselor!
My name is Farrah McDonald and I am the School Counselor at The Grove. I have worked as a School Counselor for 15 years and have been at YGES since the school opened in 2010. I am fortunate to be part of such a wonderful school family!
I have always had an interest in helping others and learning about how the human brain functions. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida State University. I obtained my Master's degree in Counseling & Psychology from Troy State University. Additionally, I pursued a program that focused on brain-based learning and received a Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership from Nova University.
I am married to Chase and we have 3 children - 2 boys and one girl. My oldest son Trace attended Georgia Southern University and is now serving in the US Army. Bailey is a senior at Central High School in Carrollton, GA. My youngest son, Kason, is in 5th grade at Youngs Grove. Most of our time outside of school revolves around sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.
At YGES, I am partnering to help provide each student with a positive and safe learning environment where all students can acquire the skills and knowledge to be lifelong learners. I look forward to working with our students, faculty, parents, and community this year!
